The Pleasure of Your Company… is requested.

How does one celebrate their 44th anniversary if one is living in Las Vegas? We decided that we would take a leaf from Chloe Boston’s adventures in Viva Lost Vegas and renew our wedding vows with Elvis at Graceland Wedding Chapel. There were a variety of services to choose from but we went with the Dueling Elvis Ceremony. I mean, why not have both a young and an old Elvis?

We sent invitations to the newsletter– and if you haven’t signed up you should!– and on social media, but in case you missed it and would like to see the ceremony (which was as much fun as it is possible to have in a chapel and not get arrested) the vow renewal is on YouTube. The ceremony was divided into two parts, a serious side where we recited traditional vows that made some of the guests teary-eyed, and then a part where we repeated the special Elvis vows– which were comprehensive but worth a giggle. We ended with a group sing-along of Viva Lost Vegas.

Though the day has passed, the pleasure of your company would still be welcome in cyberland. If you are on Facebook, you can see the ceremony (and many others) here.

Chloe Boston and I agree that it is the presence of friends that makes the occasion special. We hope to ‘see’ you soon.
