For those who like paranormal Christmas cozies, I’ve got you covered. Here’s my best paranormal Christmas cozy mysteries list. Be warned– these are Christmas stories in series that have non-Christmas books which you might want to read first. The exception is The Winter Witches of Holiday Haven and the Joyne Frost Mysteries.
Best Paranormal Christmas Cozy Mysteries
Cocoa Curses: A Christmas Paranormal Cozy Mystery (Winter Witches of Holiday Haven Book 5) by Erin Johnson. The whole Winter Witches of Holiday Haven series is fun and will get you in the holiday spirit, but I have a soft spot for Erin Johnson, Elle Adams, and Daniella Garrett who write for this series.
Grimoires and Gingerbread: A Sugar Shack Witch Mystery Christmas Novella (Sugar Shack Witch Mysteries Book 2) by Daniella Garrett. Christma festivities in Winterspell screech to a halt when two of Santa’s elves arrive to search for a missing grimoire.
Have a Holly, Haunted Christmas (Kitchen Witch Mysteries) by Lynn Cahoon. Magic Spring’s most well-known ghost has gone poltergeist and Mia must find away to restore the holiday spirit.
Miss Frost Solves A Cold Case: A Funny Cozy Paranormal Mystery (Jayne Frost Book 1) by Kristen Painter. Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost’s daughter, Santa Claus’s niece, heir to the Winter Throne and now a private investigator. If you like this series, go back and read the Nocturne Falls (where every day is Halloween)and Shadowvale series.
Feeling the Christmas Cheer Yet?
Sleighing in the Midlife: A Paranormal Cozy Mystery Christmas Story (Fanged After Forty Book 7) by Lia Davis and L A Boruff. Luke is out to prove he has what it takes to join the Bond Girls. The skip? Oh, no biggie. It’s just Santa. Part of the Fanged After Forty series.
Christmas Fudge Fatality (Murder In The Mix) by Addison Moore. Lottie Lemon sees dead people– though more often their ghost pets. Another dead body at the Jolly Hollt Tree Lot is threatening to ruin Christmas in Honey Hollow.
Best paranormal cozy Christmas mysteries continued…
Yule Be Magical (Familiar Kitten Mysteries Book 8) by Sara Bourgious. The day after Halloween and Christmas is already upon Coventry. It might be the pregnancy or the fact that her fiancé left her at the altar but Kinsley is not in the mood to deal with Yule madness. But there is a murder at Santa House and her father is a suspect so she has no choice but to dive in to the season’s revels.
Merry Little Mystic Murder (Phoebe Monday Paranormal Cozies Book 1) by Patti Larsen. It’s hard to feel holiday cheery when working as a police artist, especially when you can walk right into the victim’s memories.
Ding Dong Dead (Whitewitch Island Paranormal Cozies Book 6) by Patti Larsen. It’s Georgia’s first Christmas on Whitewitch Island but murder and Guild Artemis threaten to ruin it. Also by Patti Larsen Christmas Daisy a spinoff character from the Fiona Flemming mysteries (not paranormal).
Stay Off the Naughty List By Reading More Books
Homicide for the Holidays (Dead and Breakfast Cozy Mysteries Book 3) by Sara Bourgious. Maplewood is full of cheer until someone bumps off the beloved Santa impersonator.
Stitches in Time (Georgetown Trilogy Book 3). It is stretching things to call this a cozy but I am going to slip it in anyway. This can be read as a standalone, but the whole series is cozy-adjacent and definitely worth a read.
That’s it. That’s my best paranormal Christmas cozy mysteries list. I’ll add more as Christmas gets closer and I start serious holiday reading. Please mention your favorite paranormal Christmas books or series in the comment section.
As always, I write what I love and I have a Christmas collection (A Cozy Christmas) that includes some stories with paranormal overtones, including a Nicodemus Smith story from the Book of Dreams series.
