I wanted to share my best cozy paranormal mystery series list and top ten paranormal cozy authors since the category—especially the witch mystery—is so hot. But I found that even limiting myself to ten series was just too… well, limiting. The best I could manage was ten favorite authors who—lucky for you and me—often write several series.

Best Cozy Paranormal Mystery Series List

Elle Adams (Library Witch Mysteries)

Fun stories that have an overarching family mystery to solve as well as the murder mystery in each book. She does other paranormal series too.

Sara Bourgeois (Dead and Breakfast Mysteries)

In addition to a haunted B&B, there is a talking cat.

Lisa Bouchard (Isabella Proctor Mysteries)

Another delightful series with supporting family characters.

Lynn Cahoon (Kitchen Witch Mysteries)

The challenge of keeping a financially troubled catering business and cooking school afloat in a building haunted by the ghosts of an old school for witches.

Daniella Garrett (Beachwood Harbor Magic Mysteries)

If you enjoy Beachwood Harbor, there are several other intersecting series that follow other colorful characters who live in town.

Best cozy paranormal mystery series list continued…

Erin Johnson (Magical Tea Room Mysteries)

Great fun for fans of Jane Austen and Bath.

Patti Larsen (Witch Island Mysteries)

Patti Larsen has a half dozen series, both paranormal and cozy and they are all intriguing.

Addison Moore (Murder In The Mix)

A fun romp with animal ghosts that appear just before the murder.

Kristen Painter (First Fangs Club)

Kristen Painter has don an excellent job of creating and populating paranormal towns with mysteries and over-arching stories that are truly moving.

Carol J Perry (Witch City Mysteries)

A psychic in Salem with real witches– what could be better?

Nancy Warren (Vampire Knitting Club)

This series makes me smile. I can just imaging beings who have lived long enough to not only take up knitting but are bored enough to become amateur sleuths as well.

And that’s my best cozy paranormal mystery series list.  Yes, that is actually eleven authors. And the list goes alphabetically because I couldn’t make up my mind which I liked best. That’s a great problem to have! If you make it all the way through these series then I recommend starting on my second top ten list which includes Annabell Chase (Spellbound Mysteries), Beth Dolgner (Nightmare Arizona Mysteries) and Melissa F Olsen (Disrupted Magic).

I would be remiss not to mention that I also have a witch mystery-fantasy-thriller series called Pendlebrook. These lean a lot more toward thriller than cozy, but if you love witches and feel brave…
